2013 August to present large herbivore & Plant Ecologist: Okavango Research Institute, Maun, Botswana.

Responsibilities: Remote sensing Vegetation mapping of different vegetation communities in northern Botswana. Vegetation surveys (grasses, trees & herbaceous) in various communities. Forage quality & quantity assessments (plant nutrient analysis). Assessing the relationship between soil and plant nutrients. Assessing the impacts of herbivory on herbaceous layer with distance from permanent water in the Okavango Delta and Linyanti Swamp.

2011 June- 2013 July Large herbivore Researcher: Okavango Research Institute, Maun, Botswana.

Responsibilities: Collared zebra and buffalo in Savuti-Mababe-Linyanti Ecosystem with Satellite and Data logger collars. Tracked these two herbivore species. Generated movement maps and home ranges from their seasonal movement patters in ArcGIS 10.


Collected grass samples from their foraging positions and analysed for sodium, calcium, phosphorus and nitrogen.

2010 June-2011 June Research Assistant; Okavango Research Institute, Maun, Botswana.

Responsibilities: Tracked herbivore species in Savuti-Mababe-Linyanti Ecosystem Aerial surveys of various herbivores in northern Botswana. Collected grass samples from their foraging positions and analysed for nutrients. Determined grass biomass.
